A Curated List of The Things I find Très Chic

Chic is subjective, different for each of us but I believe it goes beyond a specific style of bag, or a pair of sheer tights. It's the essence and energy that each piece carries and the way it not only transforms our look but elevates our confidence.

With that being said, i've curated a list of things I find incredibly chic.
Little Luxuries
Luxury alternatives for everyday items. I am not the type to buy a Birkin and only bring it out only on special occasions, as you've recently seen with my choice of Christian Louboutin shoes. Romanticise the mundane routine and replace your everyday essentials with a product that's a little more luxurious, watch your mood transform.
Shopping Sustainably
Of course shopping 100% sustainable would be fabulous but realistically I think a wardrobe of equal fast and slow fashion is more attainable in todays day and age. Fast fashion is affordable, and easy to access but where you can I recommend you to shop slow. Shop vintage - if you're in Canberra, you must, if you haven't already, visit the Designer Op Shop Emporium, buy second hand, and curate a collection of unique designs from small, slow fashion brands.
Personal Style
Dressing in a style you not only look incredible in but that also gives you that next level confidence is game changing! Fashion is not just about how you look, but how you feel and discovering your authentic personal style will transform your confidence and the way you carry yourself.

Personalised, and Monogramed Bits & Bobs
Silk pillow cases with your initials in the corner, a designer pocket mirror with your name engraved on it, a wooden hairbrush with your name in gold lettering on the pack, is there anything more iconic? I don't think so.
Appreciation for Originality
Judgement, and negativity are the most un-chic things of all. There’s a beauty in being your own individual person. Appreciate others uniqueness. If we were all the same the world would be such a boring place.
Fashion Magazines
Stop scrolling, and pick up a magazine instead!
Sourcing inspiration from history
Whether it's 60's fashion, the Rococo era, or Cleopatras eyeliner, sourcing inspiration from history for your outfits, makeup looks, or even just anything you're creating I think is so chic and brings a timeless element into the final design.
Pinterest
Swap your morning TikTok scroll for a Pinterest scroll. Start your day inspired, not caught up on the latest reality TV drama.

Focusing on building a wardrobe of natural, rather than synthetic fibres
Every point I would make for this would be basically the same as my earlier fast VS. slow fashion argument. At the end of the day, natural fibres are the more environmentally friendly option, are of better quality, and will last longer in your wardrobe, however they can get expensive and with the overwhelming surge of fast fashion can be harder to come by. Aim for a 60/40 wardrobe, I think.
A Signature Look
There's nothing more iconic than a signature look however a 'Signature Look' isn't just things you like but the pieces others would see and instantly associate with you.
Having signature things helps to build a stronger personal brand and increases memorability. It can help you be more aligned with your personal self and therefore assist in making you feel more confident. Chic Autonomy: The Art of Being Yourself
Flattering Silhouettes
Take the time and learn to dress for your body shape. I promise you, it will change your life. For an easier option, you can download my Shopping & Styling Guide and have a digital PDF on your phone, and in your pocket when shopping, to help guide you towards to most flattering garments for your figure.
Rewearing the Clothes in Your Wardrobe
Now, not outfit repeating, but simply restyling. Nothing needs to be discarded after one wear, but wearing the same outfit too often doesn't emanate luxury, style, and 'it-girl' energy. Every piece in your wardrobe can be versatile, even a statement garment, you just need to know how to style it.
Enhancing your Natural Beauty
I spent years hiding behind fake tan, and heavy makeup, until I realised, the most attractive look will always be the most authentic one. Instead of using makeup to look like someone else, use it to enhance your natural features.
Quality > Quantity
We live in a world that is so deep rooted in over consumption and consumerism and as much as I love shopping I also understand that I don't 'need' all of this stuff. I shop with intention. Every piece I buy I plan to have in my wardrobe for years to come. I also partake in a lot of window shopping and allow myself to think on purchases before committing. Spend more money on quality, not quantity.
Fashion Psychology
Enclothed Cognition: “the systematic influence that clothes have on the wearer's psychological processes". Quite literally, the simplest way to aid in improving your mood; Mood Enhancement Dressing. Mel Robbin's says "act like the person you want to become", dress like the version of yourself you want to be.
Comfortable, but still cute footwear
I have to admit, I am no stranger to a blister and therefore low key ruining a look with bandaids so I can keep shopping. Invest in comfortable but still cute footwear options.

Signature Everyday Jewellery
The staples; a watch, bracelet and/or bangle, earrings, a ring, and a simple necklace.
Self love, and Confidence
Because if you love yourself, and feel confident in your own skin, you have no reason to put anyone else down to feel better about yourself. Be kind, show compassion, and have empathy.
Finding Panache in The Mundane
Any day could be your last so live like it is. Drink out of wine glasses, eat off of the 'hosting' plates, wear your fancy dresses, and use your expensive products.
Stylish Luggage
Travel in style. Stylish luggage, that is also of good quality is always a worthy investment. All of my luggage is July and I couldn't recommend it more.
Discipline
Follow the plan, not your mood. A quote I live by.
Cooking from tradition
There's something so chic about pulling out a handwritten family cookbook, and recreating a recipe from it to host or simply just for dinner on a random Tuesday. It's more than simply passing down yummy recipes, but culture, memories, and tradition.

Lounging in Silks and Satins
Of course, everyone has their own preference but personally I feel much more like myself when i'm wearing silk rather than fleece.
Lipstick Marks on Coffee Cups
The little glimpses of glamour in everyday life.
Acting with Intention
We live in such a fast paced society. Move with intention. Take the time to master self concept clarity so every decision you make aligns with your authentic self.
Talk slower and think before you speak. Mean every word you say.
Stop rushing, slow down. Wake up earlier so you have time to enjoy your mornings rather than rushing through them.
Think about your decisions and make them with intention and care.
Love,
Innasya x
